Health care professionals know the importance of
communicating medical practices and advancements quickly and accurately. People
to People
Citizen Ambassador Programs brings distant colleagues face to face, providing
a forum to share innovative ideas.
People to People medical exchanges provide a method to
explore issues in your field. Share implementation of new technology and
systems to improve care in developing nations, or learn about innovative
diagnostic and therapeutic techniques in medically advanced countries.
Witness patient care in a variety of settings. Alongside other health care
professionals, compare the incidence and treatment of disease. Perhaps study
the training and utilization of medical and paramedical personnel in rural
areas.

Meet with eminent peers from host countries and develop comprehensive
understanding of international developments in academic and practical spheres.
Return with the knowledge that you have benefited your hosts while gaining
personally from the experience.
Most medical programs that
Citizen Ambassador Programs develops
are planned and implemented in accordance with the Essential Areas and Policies
of the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) through
joint sponsorship of the American College of Medical Quality (ACMQ) and
Ambassador Programs. The ACMQ is accredited by the ACCME to sponsor continuing
medical education for physicians. The ACMQ designates our educational activity
for approximately 10.0 – 20.0
hours in Category I credit toward the AMA Physician's Recognition Award.
Our medical delegations for nurses are
generally awarded 10.0 – 20.0 contact hours through the joint sponsorship of
the University of Pittsburgh School of Nursing and
Citizen Ambassador Programs. The
University of Pittsburgh School of Nursing is an approved provider of
continuing nursing education by the Pennsylvania State Nurses Association, an
accredited approver by the American Nurses Credentialing Center's Commission on
Accreditation.
