About Our Culture Delegations

People to People Citizen Ambassadors go where tourists don’t. They interact with people who share a passion for preserving their global cultural heritage.

For over 50 years, People to People Citizen Ambassadors have traveled the world to advance President Dwight D. Eisenhower’s vision of bringing ordinary citizens together to promote peace through understanding. You can be a part of an extraordinary adventure as you go behind the scenes of major art venues, sit side by side with master craftspeople learning their secrets, and venture off the beaten path to see how people live.

People to People Citizen Ambassadors share a common interest, are passionate about the world around them, and want to go beyond ordinary tourist destinations.
Our cultural programs provide unique access to people and places around the world:

  • Go backstage at the Beijing Opera to meet dancers and stage designers before a performance

  • Stand in the Sistine Chapel in quiet serenity, with a local historian on a private, after hours’ guided exploration of the Vatican Museum

  • See treasures from the private vaults of the Hermitage that are closed to the public.

  • Weave from the loom of a South African villager, learning their technique and listening to their story

People to People Cultural Programs bring people together who share a common interest. The programs focus on humanitarian visits and provide opportunities for meeting individuals informally, in their own environment.

As a Citizen Ambassador, you can meet the people who bring beauty and humanity to their country and our world.

Apply today to become an Ambassador. You will not look at your world the same way again.
